The Reviews

The reviews for the WORX ECO WG780 19-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Lawn Mower are good.  The mower comes pretty much fully assembled, you simply have to tighten the knobs that hold the handle in place.  This is a very powerful lawn mower that a number of reviewers said they bought to replace an old gas mower.  One reviewer said that the mulching function makes the clippings nearly invisible.  Of course you also have the option to bag up and dispose of clippings.

A number of people commented on the removable battery saying that it was easy to remove and that gives you the option to charge the battery indoors or out, where ever is convenient.  It also allows people with extremely large yards to switch batteries if they need to in order to finish mowing.  Although with the ability to mow 17,500 square feet on a single charge one battery will be more than sufficient for most people.

According to our research the WORX ECO WG780 19-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Lawn Mower looks like an excellent choice.  One reviewer even said “I now look forward to mowing the lawn”.

I reviewed & researched this mower and the Black & Decker cordless mower. Both seemed to get good reviews for cutting & mulching performance.

I ultimately chose the WORX for three reasons:
    1. Design/aesthetics
    2. Removable/replaceable battery
    3. Quick folding & adjusting handles

The mower was super easy to assemble, and came fully charged. I like that you can charge the battery inside or outside the mower. The WORX is very well designed and seems solidly built, and they have put thoughtful design features all over the mower, most notably the quick-folding & adjusting handles. The only advantage the B&D seemed to have was that it could be stored vertically, however when I measured the storage footprint in the end there wasn’t much difference.

Mowing performance has been very good, nice clean & even cut and no problem mulching with tall or even slightly damp grass. We have a small yard, but when we finish mowing the battery still almost has a full charge left. We just love this mower and would buy it again in a heartbeat. In fact based on this experience we would consider buying other WORX lawn care tools.

My wife and I just bought a house in the suburbs with a 1/2acre lot. Knowing that I didn’t want to mess with tune-ups, trips to the gas station, and the smell of gas and oil, I decided to find a cordless electric model. After countless hours reviewing customer reviews, product reviews, and technical specifications, I settled on this mower.

It arrived in a box and was set up within 50 seconds (really, all you have to do if fold the handle up). I charged the battery and mowed the grass for the first time the next day. A couple of things:

Battery life: I mow my 1/2 acre and still have approximately 50% of the battery remaining.
Noise: It sounds like a soft vacuum cleaner.
Weight: I thought self propelled was a must; it’s not. My 105 pound wife can push this thing around our (mostly) flat yard without a problem. If your yard has large grades, this probably isn’t the mower for you.

Performance: I mulch the grass and the mower performs as well as any gas mower I’ve had previously. The mower bogs down slightly in very heavy or very wet grass, but so does every other gas or electric mower.
