Again – this is a person who has never used a lawnmower in her life! I did have to empty the bag maybe about 5 times (but that’s going over the lawn three times). I thought that was completely acceptable given my alternative of having to pick up the clippings myself – forget that! I am very happy with the mower. It did slow down once, but I realized that I had the height too low and it was trying to cut the dirt! So I just made it a little bit higher and it was fine. When I was done with it, I just wiped out the underside with a piece of newspaper as recommended, lowered the handlebar and stored it. Piece of cake! I would highly recommend this mower, especially for women or for anyone who is not good with mechanical things because this is for you. Oh – I didn’t have any problems with the cord either. It just seems common sense not to run it over and to start near where you plugged it in and work your way away from there. I didn’t feel at all that the cord was a pain.

I love this mower. Given I am not mechanically inclined, I had my doubts when I thought of "assembling" it. However, it was an easy task. I just assembled it on my front porch (where the UPS man dumped it) and pushed it around into the garage after I was done.

The battery did not come charged as some reviews claimed. I followed the directions and charged it. Right at l5 hours the light changed from red to green showing that charging was complete.

It is not difficult to push in my opinion. I did worry when I read it was heavy. My last mower was a Toro 2 Cycle mower, and this one is no heavier.

I LOVED my old mower, but I was tired of hassling with it needing maintenance each year (spark plugs, etc.) I never knew what was wrong when it died. However, I really wish I had bought this mower sooner. It runs quietly, leaves no smoke, is cool when you finish, and is a breeze to start and stop.

I can't imagine anyone would not like the mower!

We have a 1.5 acre yard. Some of that is trees and house but more than 1 acre is grass. All of the articles and reviews that we saw said that an electric mower was not for us. We had been using an old push mower though so we figured, "how different could it possibly be?". We knew mowing is hard work but why sit on a ride-on drinking a beer and then go to the gym afterward? We get it all done in one activity.

So, we bought this mower and a spare battery (available on amazon for about $89). The battery can be charged on or off the mower so we just mow until one battery is dead and then swap them out. The other battery is charging while we're using the second.

We tend to be a bit lazy about how often we mow so our grass often gets to be probably 7-8" long or so. This mower had NO problem. It even hacked through some brush (when I got too close to the edge of our yard) without even a hickup!

Two batteries give us approximately 2 hours of mowing time. Even with the old gas mower, we very rarely mowed for more than 2 hrs straight. After 2 hrs, if there is more mowing to be done, we'd take a break and come back to it the next day anyway. If we had mowed fairly recently and the grass was not totally overgrown, we could get through the whole yard. When we're lazy about it and the grass is really long, it drains the battery more quickly and takes 2 days - we do the front yard one day and the back yard the next.

The most amazing thing that we found though is that our old gas mower would stall out when we hit a thick patch of longer grass. This mower just plows right through. I never expected a battery-powered version to have more power than our gas mower.

We have been seriously amazed. I love the fact that the battery is so easy to remove and swap out. It will be more convenient for the winter and easy to replace if the battery ever wears down(even relatively cheap with Amazon's free shipping). We would absolutely buy this mower again and have highly recommend it to friends.

My wife and I just bought a house in the suburbs with a 1/2acre lot. Knowing that I didn't want to mess with tune-ups, trips to the gas station, and the smell of gas and oil, I decided to find a cordless electric model. After countless hours reviewing customer reviews, product reviews, and technical specifications, I settled on this mower.

It arrived in a box and was set up within 50 seconds (really, all you have to do if fold the handle up). I charged the battery and mowed the grass for the first time the next day. A couple of things:

Battery life: I mow my 1/2 acre and still have approximately 50% of the battery remaining.
Noise: It sounds like a soft vacuum cleaner.
Weight: I thought self propelled was a must; it's not. My 105 pound wife can push this thing around our (mostly) flat yard without a problem. If your yard has large grades, this probably isn't the mower for you.

Performance: I mulch the grass and the mower performs as well as any gas mower I've had previously. The mower bogs down slightly in very heavy or very wet grass, but so does every other gas or electric mower.

I hardly ever write reviews, but I should because I use other people's reviews to make decisions. The first thing you should know is that I've never mowed a lawn in my life. I am a single mother and I just bought my first house last October (it is now June). I wanted to buy a mower and used the reviews on this site as well as friends' general recommendations to buy this one - the Black and Decker MM875.

This mower is great for a novice as it is almost completely assembled in the box. The only thing you have to do is remove the mulcher thing, attach the bag, turn the screws (4) to adjust the height of the bar (to push it) and plug it in and go! My only issue was with the cord. I bought the recommended size and amp cord for it, but I didn't realize that I needed an adapter to actually plug it into the mower itself. The place to plug it into the mower is a 2-prong, meanwhile every extension cord I saw for mowers including the one I bought is a three-prong. I didn't see anything in the instructions that would have told me this. So I had to return to the store to get an adapter.

Also, you will need 2 adapters if you don't have a three-prong outlet in your home to plug the other end into. I'm sure that most people probably have adapters, but again, my first home and first time mowing so I have nothing! Other than that, I had no problems whatsoever. I was a little wary as some reviewers said they had issues with attaching the bag and others said they had to empty the bag too many times, but I have a medium sized lawn, probably about 80 feet long and 40 feet wide or so and I had no problems with either attaching the bag (I thought my 9-yr old son could have done it) or with emptying it. The height-adjustment thing is great! One push of it and you adjust all 4 wheels! My lawn was pretty high by the time I got the mower so I had to go over it three times at three different height adjustments and it looked great when I was done.

Again - this is a person who has never used a lawnmower in her life! I did have to empty the bag maybe about 5 times (but that's going over the lawn three times). I thought that was completely acceptable given my alternative of having to pick up the clippings myself - forget that! Oh - I didn't have any problems with the cord either. It just seems common sense not to run it over and to start near where you plugged it in and work your way away from there. I didn't feel at all that the cord was a pain.

I thought having to deal with gasoline and oil would have been more of a pain which is why I went with the electrical one. I will have to write another review as I use it more often to see how it does long-term, but for now I'm happy! I also bought a Black and Decker weed wacker but haven't tried to use it yet. I will review that as well once I do!

I bought this mower based on the positive reviews I read online. When it arrived, the grass was very tall due to spring rains -- I was concerned the mower wouldn't get through it effectively -- however, it cut through tall and thick grass without any problems! I also worried the battery might not last long enough to cut both front & back yard lawns, but not a problem -- I just charge it after each time I mow.

Because I don't like to apply lawn chemicals, I use the mulch function. When mulching, it's easier to push the mower in thick grass if the front wheels are raised 2 notches higher than the back wheels (each wheel can be independently adjusted). The mower also cuts well when being pulled (backward) -- just be sure to pull the mower smoothly so that the plastic safety bar (back, bottom end of mower) doesn't fold under the mower.

It's fairly quiet, much quieter than gas-powered mowers. This is important to me as I live in a neighborhood with long, narrow lots -- my neighbors' houses are close to mine (and my yard).

Worth mentioning, this is the only lawn equipment I've ever had shipped to me. As another reviewer mentioned, the lawn mower comes fully-assembled -- you'll just pull back the handle, tighten the handle screws (no tools required), charge it, and you're ready to mow!

I reviewed & researched this mower and the Black & Decker cordless mower. Both seemed to get good reviews for cutting & mulching performance.

I ultimately chose the WORX for three reasons:
1. Design/aesthetics
2. Removable/replaceable battery
3. Quick folding & adjusting handles

The mower was super easy to assemble, and came fully charged. I like that you can charge the battery inside or outside the mower. The WORX is very well designed and seems solidly built, and they have put thoughtful design features all over the mower, most notably the quick-folding & adjusting handles. The only advantage the B&D seemed to have was that it could be stored vertically, however when I measured the storage footprint in the end there wasn't much difference.

Mowing performance has been very good, nice clean & even cut and no problem mulching with tall or even slightly damp grass. We have a small yard, but when we finish mowing the battery still almost has a full charge left. We just love this mower and would buy it again in a heartbeat. In fact based on this experience we would consider buying other WORX lawn care tools.
